Makarimi Abdullah
I bought this orchid during CNY Orchid Show in Penang Time Square last January. This species is originated from Borneo and Philippine, but it's rarely seen among the collectors. The colors is yellow to reddish form and has fragrant. The orchids I bought is from Philippine, I never see the Borneo form yet, and hope to have both. It is because the color form and the size of the flower slightly different.
This orchids also known as 'Daisy Orchids' due to her appearance or Makoy's Cirrhopetalum. This orchid is unifoliate epiphyte and easy to grow. If you are in 4 season country, this orchid most often bloom in winter, but here she is free flowering. This orchid originated in lowland forest at elevations up to 300 meters.

This post I dedicate and welcome to my new Orchid Friend - ONG  from New Jersey, United State with his  An Obsessive Neurotic Gardener blog to my Orchid de Dangau. Thanks ONG for being my 38th friend here. I really appreciate your support.

I've never seen a spiky orchid before. Interesting that it is free-flowering in a hot climate but flowers in the winter elsewhere.
