This orchid endemic to Bahia , specifically the southern and
southeastern regions of the state. The species is generally found in the
Atlantic Forest range above 400 meters in altitude . Behaves epiphyte ,
it reaches about 20 cm , leaves smooth, rigid and elliptical and
flowers ranging from light green to dark green with spots brown and lip
of color purple .

Commonly known as four-season orchid,
Others name are golden-thread orchid, spring orchid, burned-apex orchid
and rock orchid. And some orchidist called Cymbidium With The Sword
Shaped Leaves.
This orchid
normally found in Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, China, Vietnam , Laos, Hong
Kong to Sumatra and Java. But this plant is so special, because found
in Malaysia and OdD bought from Zee Mex Pemborong... Thanks for the

This orchid grow well in evergreen broadleafed plateau forests in soils
dampened by mists and splash along steep watercourses or on mossy
limestone rocks as a lithophyte at elevations from sea level up to 1500
meters. This orchid grows in medium sized, hot to cool growing
terrestrial species with small pseudobulbs enveloped completely by
imbricating leaf-bearing sheaths each carrying 3 to 4, strap-shaped,
thin, acute, sometimes variegated leaves and blooms in the summer and
fall on a basal, erect, 12" [30 cm] long, racemose scape that has a few
to many (3 to 9), long-lasting, fragrant flowers.

This hybrid produces huge flowers up to 7" in size which the colour is
soft apple green flowers. It also produces wonderful fragrant at night
which is comes from the parentage Brassavola nodosa with 2-3 flowers per
inflorescence.

This cattleya is called the Queen of the Brazilian savannah because the
heartland of this magnificent species is the Brazil central plateau and
surrounding area. This species is relatively small. It grows epiphytes
or a lithophytes and sometimes in full sun.It differs from most species
of Cattleya by having inflorescence which arise from the rhizome
instead of from the apex of the pseudo-bulb.

Program ini di anjurkan oleh Majlis Perbandaran Taiping dengan kerjasama Persatuan Orkid Taiping.
Persatuan Orkid Taiping mewakilkan kepada OdD untuk berkongsi serba sedikit ilmu tentang penanaman dan penjagaan orkid dengan komuniti Taiping dan sekitarnya.
Acara ini mendapat sambutan yang menggalakan dari komuniti dan harapan kami di OdD semoga komuniti yang hadir mendapat manfaat dari aktiviti ini.
Selepas taklimat OdD ada juga membuat sessi jualan pokok koleksi istimewa serta baja formulasi OdD (Foodie) sebagai buah tangan kepada peserta .
Di fahamkan aktiviti ini akan diteruskan lagi di masa akan datang.

Here, i'm sharing my interest of this amazing creature and my activity @ my Pondok Orchid.
I will post orchid tips and caring information base on my experience ( >20 years) in this hobby. Some of the plants here, i willing to sell if somebody interested with, just ask me!
